ABOUT

Gervase has a deep experience working with multinational corporations, challengers and successful start-up companies. He has established and managed teams of varying sizes, and led them through periods of rapid change, including first-build, fund raising, accelerated growth, mergers and divestment.

His career combines an initial two decades of working in marketing, M&A and general management for enterprises such as GSK, Unilever, Henkel and P&G. In 2003 he founded Chartered Brands, the first consumer brand accelerator. It has been responsible for growing and launching many new brands and companies. In the past decade the focus has evolved away from running brand operations directly, toward the set up and launch of new brand companies with their own teams and corporate infrastructure.

Chartered Brands was established with a mission to “realise brand value” - striving for authentic consumer insights and establishing the structures to bring them into the world.

This philosophy was extended into organisational work through Ampersand, with the aim of realising the value and values of leaders, managers and business owners. Ampersand has worked with business schools and at Board level with global multinationals across many sectors and regions. Hence, “realising your value”.

The company has retained an interest in various partner brands and companies, including a significant share of Innovation Exchange – a pioneer of open innovation.

Gervase has mentored and coached at different business scales; and has a particular interest in sustainability and entrepreneurship – driven by change-leaders in organisations of all sizes.

His lifelong interests have been science, music and analytic psychology.  His work is based on dialogue – which is founded on intentional listening and warmth.
